Amazing and skillfully handcrafted " work of lighting ART ". This artistically designed and outstandingly executed wrought iron Arts & Crafts chandelier is another one of our recent great finds. With early 20th century lighting as one of our specialities we always love finding light fixtures with features we have never seen. This extra large wrought iron chandelier also comes with an extra large canopy. This canopy is a work of art in its own right, because it is huge and it alone must have taken a highly skilled blacksmith several days to perfectly handforge this unique and rounded lion’s head of such thick metal. If you are an interior designer and you are looking for a true masterpiece and centerpiece for one of your projects then this antique chandelier could be exactly that. We were thrilled to have been given the opportunity to purchase this all-original European Arts and Crafts chandelier and we could not wait to show it to you (our 1stdibs clients). This grand chandelier comes with as many as 20 sockets and we will have it rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage the world over. Originally this chandelier would have had a set of four glass panels like 'quadrants of a circle' and we believe they would have been made of either opaline or milky glass. If you want to, we can again have those made for this exceptional chandelier. Authentic and sturdy crafted with love and expertise, this pendant lamp is made from robust wrought iron. The material is heated in a blacksmith’s forge and then skillfully shaped into its elegant form. The lion’s head as the ceiling canopy adds an authentic touch, while the thick, heavy steel gives it a rugged character.
