Murano Glass and Brass Multi Color Midcentury Chandelier and Pendant, 1970
About the Item
Murano chandelier from the middle of the century, more colors. (pink, light blue and light brown).
Round shaped, formed by a large metal structure, where Murano colored glass plates are all around. The plates are fixed with brass screws. The plates are of a different color, (pink, light blue and light brown), and of different sizes, combined one after the other. In addition, the glass plates have a polished brass insert in the central part. In the lower part the chandelier has some sanded glass segments. The chandelier is attached to the ceiling by a brass barrel with a polished brass cup at the end.
Both in proportion and size and in the combination of colors, with the final touch of polished brass for the finishes. The object is very beautiful and elegant. It also looks very well lit, as you can see from the photos.

This beautiful object was produced in Italy in the 70s by Venini. Woven Glass created by Carlo Scarpa for Venini in the 1930s; similar to filigree but obtained using very thin reeds joined with alternating colors and flattened to form strips similar to fabric ribbons, joined and manipulated to obtain the desired design. This is an exceptionally beautiful chandelier due to the state of the piece, the size of the light but above all the subtlety of the Tessuto Murano Glass. A stunning piece of lighting with infinite elegance that will complement an art deco or mid-century living room or entryway perfectly. The Chandelier uses a single E26/27 light bulb. Scarpa was born in Venice. Much of his early childhood was spent in Vicenza, where his family moved when he was 2 years old.
