About the Item
'Sputnik' chandeliers, brass, glass, Austria, 1960s
Beautiful and sizeable 'Sputnik' chandelier made in Austria in the 1960s. This light consist of a center sphere from which many rods with glass spheres at each end are held. The small spheres are made of structured glass and joined by rods with lightbulbs in a cone-shaped shade. The glass absorbs the light very nicely, creating a wonderful elegant light partition. The chandelier has a diameter of 1.2m/47.2 inches which makes this design even more impressive.
