About the Item
Linear corrugation pendant light (5 bulbs) made from natural ash veneered plywood (clear coated) and vermilion red powder-coated aluminium tubes.
Created in collaboration with Tino Seubert.
The linear pendant also comes as a shorter 4-bulb version (100cm length).
Other standard colour combinations and spot lights inside the tubes instead of protruding bulbs are available and we are happy to discuss custom solutions for colours, wood veneers and metal finishes. “Corrugation” is a collection of lights inspired by Midcentury Furniture making, honouring the technique of veneer forming. It consists of a scalable hanging light and wall sconces, which can serve as building blocks to create unique combinations playfully spanning across whole rooms.
The aluminium tubes come in a range of five colours, black, sapphire blue, off-white, vermilion and pastel blue, and sit within ash veneer, which can either be lacquered in the tube’s colour or left in its natural finish. The linear light and the wall pieces can be cut to length to fit any space and work harmoniously with their surroundings.
The collection takes veneer forming as a starting point, a process that requires skilled craftsmanship, which was introduced to the furniture world by design names like Alvar Aalto and the Eames couple, and pairs it with off-the-shelf aluminium tubes. A snug fit where the hard powder-coated metal meets the soft wavy wood and gives the pieces a pleasant contrast.

Theodora Alfredsdottir
With roots in Iceland, a community with a population of 380.000, but living in amongst 9.000.000 others in London, Theodora Alfredsdottir finds herself looking for the individual within the mass throughout her work. She believes that good design is a window into the process of creating objects, in order to give the user a better understanding of what goes into bringing an object into this world, to encourage responsible consumption. The object, therefore, acts as a documentation of its manufacturing process; a record of what went on between the machine, tools, craftsman and material. Each and every product is a three-dimensional collage using shapes from Theodora’s collection of compositions of geometric shapes.
