About the Item
An impressive large vintage Czechoslovakian Marie-Therese style cut crystal chandelier with a shaped central body surmounted by elegant contoured scrolling arms. The whole profusely hung with drops, hanging beads and French style pendeloque crystals. 24 lights arranged in two tiers, the upper with 8 lights, the lower tier 16, supporting white sleeved candlesticks. Fully appointed with crystal strips, rosettes, crystal chains and drops. A central cut-crystal obelisk protrudes below a hanging cut crystal ball.
Dating back to 1950s, the timeless elegance of this Czech crystal chandelier is sure to lend a special atmosphere in every home. Chain can be as long as requested. Listed size refers to the chandelier frame only.
The name for this style of chandelier originated from the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria who enjoyed this style in her palaces.
