The fixture is equipped with the original screw lamp sockets. Max. 60 Watt. The fixture has been rewired and the electric parts are in a used but good condition. Works in the US. About Hans Bergström: Immediately after Hans graduated from the School of Art and Design, he visited Vienna. In these early years he probably came into contact with the work of the designer Josef Frank. Both he and Verna would appreciate and also to some extent be influenced by color and form from Svensk Tenn, where Josef Frank worked from the mid-1930s. One can sense connections in the color scale to self-designed textiles that came to adorn lampshades on floor, ceiling and table luminaires, but also in the ornamentation which in Bergström's case is much stricter than in Frank's style. In 1954, Hans and Verna go on the couple's first trip together, to Italy. The trip first goes to France and then further into Italy where they visit cultural and historical sites and meet inspiring people active in design and architecture. This relatively short odyssey will be the starting point for the couple's discovery of new cultures and during the later half of the forties they will have many new influences, especially Italian. It can probably be said that the stays in Italy and Milan will be extremely important for the designer Hans Bergström in the coming 1950s. Prominent Italian designers and architects will take Hans Bergström's ideas about lighting and lighting design very seriously.
