Modernist Polished Brass Sputnik w/ Handblown Murano Translucent Orbital Points
About the Item
This stunning and graphic modernist sputnik chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a spherical body in lustrous polished brass with an abundance of spokes emanating outwards capped with orbital translucent glass points. These orbs alternate between plain translucent glass, and clear glass filled with miniscule translucent murines, suggestive of effervescent water. With its beautiful glass quality and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The chandelier accommodates six Edison based bulbs offering up to 600 watts of light. The height can be adjusted to suit.
