About the Item

It was designed by female Finnish designer Nanny Still in the 1960s and manufactured by Raak Amsterdam. It comes chain-suspended and with its original canopy in patinated brass. Nanny Still-McKinney (1926-2009) was a well-known Finnish lighting designer who worked for companies such as Riihimäki Lasi in the 1950s and later for Raak Amsterdam in the 1960s. She was recognized and awarded for her designs at the Milan Triennials in 1954, 1957, and 1960. Still’s colorful and delicate works in glass design continued to bloom in her work for Raak, as seen in this 1960s pendant design that incorporates her flair with glass and metal.
