Napoleon III Bronze d’Ore and Crystal Chandelier, French 19th Century

About the Item

This antique chandelier is made of gold covered bronze, and features 2 staggered tiers of lighting, with each light resting atop a highly decorated bobeche. The lights are mostly grouped in sets of fours, with three lights in the lower tier resting on swirling arms that curve down from an upwards curled arm that holds a top tier light. Between these groups of lights, an individual arm holds a single light to separate them. The interior stem of the chandelier holds a large close-topped kylix vase with a bouquet of blooming flowers at the top of the vase. A large crystal ball hangs off the bottom finial of the chandelier, which is decorated as a bunch of grapes. A complementary smaller crystal ball hangs down from the top tier of the chandelier as well.
