Rupert Nikoll Rare Pair of Austrian Brass & Textured Glass Pendant Lights Lamps
About the Item
One of those special pieces which seldom becomes available. Stunning elegant pair of brass and clear textured bubble glass light fixtures by Austrian lighting firm Rupert Nikoll. Similar, in style, to fellow Austrian lighting manufacturer, J.T. Kalmar and German Ateliers, the Vereinigte Werkstätten Bremen or München, circa 1960.
There is a lot of skilled artistry here, typical of pieces made by these Ateliers, the welded sheet of perforated brass is almost seamless and the moulded (molded) textured "bubble" glass is something which would have been technically very demanding to produce with just the right amount of glass protrusion and the subsequent difficulty in regulating the glass temperature to avoid destruction while cooling the piece, not to mention it's large size, make this a rare find.
Rewired for 220 Volts (EU). Each light requires a single E27 lightbulb (60Watt Max.)
