Pair of Mid-Century Modern Brass, Enamel and Waffle Milk Glass Globe Chandeliers

About the Item

This refined pair of Mid-Century Modern pendants were realized in the Czech Republic circa 1950. The feature graphic domed shades with a rectilinear "waffle" grid pattern in relief on bottom of each, which offers a striking formal counterpoint to the curved form of the bodies. Each globe is capped with a circular convex black enamel detail at its apex that connects to a conical canopy (also in black enamel) via a cylindrical rod in brass. With their clean modernist lines, austere form and refined color palate, this pair of pendants are as versatile as they are aesthetically compelling. They would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. Czech Republic, circa 1950 Dimensions: 36" height x 14" diameter.
