About the Item
An exquisite pair of cylindrical pendant lights by Carl Fagerlund in his signature style, each consisting of two curved panels of thick textured glass suspended from simple brass stems.
NOTE: Dimensions provided refer to the glass fixture alone. The overall height (from ceiling to bottom of fixture) measures 23".
Delivery does not include installation.
There's a reason Carl Fagerlund's work has remained amongst the most beloved and sought-after in Scandinavian lighting for over 50 years: no other designer of the period possessed such masterful understanding of the elements of light and glass - an understanding which allowed Fagerlund to create functional works of art that illuminated an ambient mood, not just a room. During his partnership with the legendary Swedish glassworks Orrefors, Fagerlund produced a prolific body of work. His hardwired designs most often feature warm brass hardware and thick, pressed glass panels in a variety of textures, which diffuse the light to various effects; faux cut-glass, for example, creates bright, glittering sparkles, while ice glass produces warm, wavy rays. Effusive use of crystal and gold tones lends luxury and glamour to Fagerlund's fixtures, while Modernist design sensibilities keep them from appearing too garish or over-the-top, giving them a chameleon-like ability to complement a wide rage of décor styles.
