About the Item

Gorgeous pair of chandeliers in bubble-wrapped Murano glass with cage. The glass is hand-blown with a amber tint and was created by Giorgio Seguso during the 1930s in Italy. These Murano glass bubble cage pendants with oriental style and a "puffy" look with a fancy metal finish. Part of the metal frame has slightly oxidized and adds a fantastic patina. Each is made in two pieces, the top is removable, to replace the bulb. The glass structure is approx. 13.5" high and about 8.5" in diameter. The Seguso family has been dedicated to the art of Murano glass in Venice since May 3, 1397. Seguso is one of the most esteemed, historical and respected glass manufacturers on the island, and among the largest glass furnaces in Murano, which has a few, homonymous furnaces. Glass made by the Seguso furnace can be found in over 75 museums worldwide, such as MOMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Today, Seguso is known for its high-end Venetian glass objects, lighting, accessories and custom installations. Seguso glass has been made for the Pope, Royalty and numerous luxury interiors throughout the world. The fixture requires one European E27 / 110 Volt Edison bulb, up to 60 watts. A nice addition to any room. Found at an Estate Sale in Verona, Italy.
