Pair of Two Tiered Glass Cube Chandelier by Austrolux, Austria, 1960s
About the Item
A beautiful pair of Austrian chandeliers by Austrolux, Vienna, manufactured in the mid-century, circa 1960s (late 1960s or early 1970s). Each lamp consists of a silver-colored metal frame containing triangular chrome-plated or nickel-plated elements and large geometric glass blocks in a brutalist style, similar to J.T.'s Kalmar products. Each light features six horizontally oriented E14 candle bulbs and a downward facing E14 candle lamp bulb in the center. This means that the lamp requires a total of seven European E14 / 110 volt candelabra light bulbs, each with an output of up to 40 watts. Found at an estate sale in Vienna, Austria. These lights are a beautiful addition to any room, but also hang very well above a dining table or kitchen island.
