Palwa or Palme Gilt Brass Faceted Crystal Glass Sputnik Chandelier, 1960-1970s
About the Item
Precious gilt brass and crystal glass Sputnik chandelier made by Christoph Palme or Palwa, Germany, circa 1960-1970. The chain-hanging chandelier has a gilt brass metal Sputnik construction with lots of high lead hand-cut faceted octagonal crystal glass strings and beads which sparkle like diamonds. It takes four E14 standard screw bulbs to illuminate. The wiring is perfect so it is in fine working order and ready to use. The total length is 58 cm / 22.83 inches with a width of 46 cm / 18.11 inches. Cleaned with love this chandelier stays in a very good original vintage condition, minor wear consistent with age and use, minimal barely noticeable nicks to few glass beads, only visible by a very close inspection. It presents beautifully. Typical for Christoph Palme, Palwa, Bakalowits and Lobmeyr lighting, this lamp is made with best materials and is of very high quality. This sparkling beauty is an eye-catcher. It would be a perfect addition and upgrade for any Mid-Century Modern or noble stylish interior.
