About the Item

Pantre, pendant by Bent Karlby in 1970 and produced by Lyfa. Absolutely gorgeous Scandinavian Modern yellow and aluminium hanging lamp in good vintage condition. The name Pantre refers to the three (TRE in Danish) polished aluminium "Pan flute" pipes, carefully arranged back-to-back, forming a circular shape. Each pipe has a matte yellow inner, a light bulb in the centre of the pipe and a rounded aluminium cover, covering the light bulb. The rounded covers are adjustable, up and downwards, allowing for control of light flow, and at the same time giving you the freedom to alter the lights appearance, almost infinitely. When this beautiful Pantre pendant is lit, the yellow inner becomes even more yellow and gives off a soft ambient illumination - and the open top and bottom, provides for good luminance in the up- and downwards directions. When idle it is a true scriptural piece of art - hanging from the ceiling. Endless uses in the stylish modern home! In the late 1960s Bent Karlby created a series of Pan-themed lights, originally produced by Lyfa and in the early 1970s for ASK Belysning. The Pan-themes series included the Pan-Opticon wall sconces (1968-1969), the Pandean wall sconces (1970), the Pan pendants (Plexiglas, 1971) - and this truly magnificent Pantre pendant. A beautiful vintage addition to any space - in good vintage condition with some normal signs of usage and age (some tiny white spots on the sides and few superficial marks) - please see the photos! All original, but rewired with 2 m (6' 6.7") high end quality, white fabric cord - for safety and beauty. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labelled and packed in protective bag. Light source: Three bulbs, Edison screw-fittings (E27/26) max. 75 watt each.
