Midcentury Bakalowits Chandelier Brass Crystal Glass Strings Lamp Austria 1950s
About the Item
Precious petite midcentury chandelier made by the famous Austrian company Bakalowits, Vienna, Austria, circa 1955. The chain hanging height adjustable pendant lamp is made of patinated brass and lots of octagonal cut-glass crystal beads and pearls. The design of this stunning piece looks like the works of Emil Stejnar for Rupert Nikoll, Austria, especially when you look at the lovely details (canopy with crystal pearls) who mostly had used acrylic Lucite pearls instead of glass. This beauty stays in a very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. It has one brass fitting for one E27 standard screw bulb to illuminate. The wiring is perfect so the light is in fine working order and ready to use. The body of the lamp is 30 cm / 11.81 inches tall with a width of 17 cm / 6.69 inches, the total length is 70 cm / 27.56 inches. This high quality chandelier which would perfectly fit in a small entry hall as a highlight is a beauty, an eye-catcher and an upgrade for any Mid-Century Modern or stylish Hollywood Regency inspired interior.
