Rare Art Glass Pendant Lamp by France Higgins with Nine Fused Rondelays

Extremely rare Higgins art glass pendant lamp featuring nine "Rondelay" concentric colored circle fused glass squares in a wonderful walnut casing with six sides - three of which hold the glass squares. Everything is in excellent condition. This was well taken care of. Higgins Glass lamps are very rare and this one has the hexagon shaping that other Higgins lamps have as well - there just aren't many out there to compare to. I assume, these were special orders.
Measures: 21" tall x 8" in "diameter" although it is a hexagon with unequal sides. The chain currently is 4' (that can be added onto if needed), and the cord is 11' long.
Higgins Glass refers to any piece of art glass or fused glass fashioned by Michael and Frances Higgins, of Chicago, Illinois, United States, during the last half of the 20th century. Their work combines a Kandinsky-esque visual aesthetic with an emphasis on functionality of the finished pieces.
The glass is especially prized for two reasons: first, its distinctive aesthetic virtue, and second, the uniqueness of the fused glass processes first developed and used by the Higgins.
