Rare Levelle 'Birdwing' Ornate Retractable Blade Fan

About the Item

This was the first ever retractable blade ceiling fan to exist in history and an amazing example of Industrial ingenuity. Made from the 1920s-1930s. When the fan turns on, the centrifugal force causes the blades to extend outwards until fully opened, when turned off, the blades will slowly huddle back into the center, hiding behind the light. In the closed position the diameter is 16 inches. With the blades out it will be 32 inches. They have been cleaned, serviced and rewired. Note that we do have matching lamps that can be found on our listing #LU883824336542.
