About the Item

Early 20th century, majestic, pure Art Deco, work-of-art light fixture. With early 20th century lighting in general (and alabaster fixtures in particular) as one of our specialities, we were again amazed to find a completely unique and highly stylish, alabaster chandelier. This remarkable and truly unique specimen is pure Art Deco in style. It was most likely handcrafted in Italy, because it was there where the most skilled of artisans, for centuries made a living making the most amazing works of art out of this beautiful mineral stone. Both the entire design and the stunning details just keep drawing your eyes to this work of lighting art. The base is hand carved out of one large block of alabaster and what makes it even more remarkable is that the leaf patterns running underneath all arms were carved in one go as well. It must have given the alabaster carvers a bit of a headache to pull this one off, but the Italian artisan(s) clearly delivered, because the perfectly carved and polished base with arms and the five unique and intrinsic flower shades are as good as you will ever see them. This unique and symmetrical Art Deco fixture is unlike anything you ever saw and with the light switched on in the evenings there is nothing that compares to its grandeur. This one of a kind chandelier is in superb condition and, as so often is the case, it is even better looking in real life. This exceptional light will be rewired for safe and immediate usage the world over and it can easily take 5 bulbs of 80 watts each. This is more than enough to create the perfect atmosphere on every occasion.
