About the Item

Symfoni designed by Preben Dal in the early 1960s and produced by H. Følsgaard Elektro a top-tier and internationally sought after collectors piece in very good vintage condition! An enchanting origami like pendant light, comprised of white rhomboid shaped steel elements all carefully arranged to form a large five sided diamond with a dark gray band to emphasize the widest point, the middle. The arrangement of white steel elements narrows towards the top and bottom, thus gives way for emitted light to escape between the white elements. The result is a very soft, diffused illumination, while still providing excellent reflection of the soft light to the entire room. The open top and bottom creates a beautiful star-like pattern of light spots upwards and downwards, while towards the sides the lights spots is reflected onto the surroundings. Truly a sculptural and jaw-dropping beauty, alight as well as idle! And with its excellent lighting quality, this is a personal all-time favorite!!! In the early 1960s Preben Dal designed the lighting series, Symfoni, consisting of flush lights and pendants in different arrangement of the white rhomboid shaped steel elements. All were produced by H- Følsgaard Elektro. Although there is little to no information to find about the designer or the lights, the Symfoni lamps are highly sought after today. All we are able to find on the designer Preben Dal is that he had a Design Studio with Danish architect Ole Bang in the period 1959-1976. This medium-sized Symfoni is a super attractive piece in very good vintage condition with normal signs of age and usage, please see the photos! Please note that I have a smaller version of this Symfoni pendant light up for sale in the shop. I also have two Symfoni semiflushs and three Symfoni wall lights (with light brown shades) - still being process in my warehouse. Condition: Original, but rewired with 2 m (6' 6.7") high end quality, white fabric cord for safety and beauty. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag.
