About the Item
A Taraxacum cocoon pendant light designed by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos in the 1960s. This captivating fixture features an enameled steel frame with a “cocoon” sprayed resin shade. When lit, this iconic modernist piece emits an ambient glow. Unmarked. Sourced in Italy, 1960s.
This pendant is documented in Giuliana Gramigna, Repertorio 1950-2000, Allemandi, Turin, 2003, p. 84.
DIMENSIONS: Approx 23"Dia x 20"H
CONDITION: Great vintage condition. Minor wear including marks and areas of slight discoloration are concentrated along the base of the shade. This pendant was professionally rewired for U.S. use with a new socket and black metal canopy. Additionally, the original canopy is available upon request. Accepts one standard base light bulb.
