Unique Functionalist Chandelier, Prague, 1932-1936
About the Item
A unique chandelier from luxury functionalist colony "Baba" in the city of Prague. The construction of this urban district was influenced by the Werkbund art movement. Many famous artists and architects participated in the construction and it was a prestigious property. Namely, for example, Pavel Janák, Ladislav Sutnar, Josef Gocár, Jan E. Koula.
The chandelier is made of brass nickel-plated construction and milk glass. The chandelier has two bulbs that can be used separately (One lower, the other upper). One vertical arm can be tilted after removing the screw in the upper part, so that a glass shade can be inserted into the lamp. The chandelier is installed on a wooden board directly on the ceiling using screws. The metal hook is only temporary for storage purposes and should be removed before installing the chandelier.
Fully functional in perfect original condition. New cabling.
