Unique Set of Lalique Like Midcentury Iridescent Blue Glass Pendant Light Shades
About the Item
Good size and great shape group of five / 5 midcentury pendant shades.
About eight years ago we purchased this amazing design and superb condition set of five midcentury, art glass shades from the man who said he had salvaged them from a midcentury ocean liner. We were never able to find out from which liner and from which shipping company they came. From the moment I owned these I was always convinced I would find the right space for them privately. Now I believe the set is too big for me alone and I have decided to sell all five via our gallery here on 1stdibs. These amazing art glass shades have the same iridescent blue color that some Lalique pieces have, they are in THE best condition possible and we have never seen another one of these shades anywhere in the world. In the remaining months of this year and next year we will be offering more unique and superb condition antiques that we don't always find the time for to advertise or that we were not willing to sell earlier. This unique set of midcentury art glass shades certainly is up there with the rarest you will ever come across. All mouthblown they all are around 18.5 inches in diameter and they are between 6.5 and 7.5 inches in height. Here we have photographed them on our amazing Louis Majorelle desk (also advertised on 1stdibs). To us, this is a unique opportunity for an interior designer, because finding a set of five incredibly rare shades in this condition is going to make one of your clients extremely happy and thankful. All they need is a single socket and a gallery with a chain and canopy.
