UNIS - patinated steel ceiling pendant handmade by Diaphan Studio

Established in 2019 by Alessandro Giacomelli and Dominique Wolniewicz, Diaphan is a design studio borne of a preoccupation with light and a passion for art. Alessandro and Dominique consider themselves ‘sculptors of light’. Their creative process began at home where they developed their first prototypes for family and friends. Today their site-specific installations and luminaires are commissioned for high-end residential and hospitality projects worldwide. The initial vision has developed into a fully fledged creative studio that is aiming to be at the forefront of transforming light into poetic experiences. Less than one year after it was established, Diaphan was selected to showcase its first collection at SaloneSatellite, the young designers section at Milan Design Week. Because of the pandemic outbreak, the event was rescheduled for the year 2022, when Diaphan’s pieces were finally presented to the public. In MDW 2023 edition they introduced their new collections which generated great interest by the critic and the industry. As a result, in the same year, Diaphan was invited to debut at Salon Art + Design in New York, opening their horizon to an overseas audience.
