1950s Industrial Adjustable Chrome Floor Standing Lamp, Light, Swivel Base

About the Item

1950s vintage industrial chrome adjustable floor standing lamp/light with swivel base on wheels. Sourced from an ex Soviet laboratory this is a wonderful chrome floor lamp with a heavy cast metal base on swivelling wheels. The lamp is fully adjustable. The main support has a gentle spring action which takes the lamp from a height overall of 155cm through to as height as 210cm. The horizontal arm is 50cm long and moves backwards and forwards on the main support, it can also rotate. The chrome shade swivels. The shade is 34cm tall, 42 cm diameter. The base is 54cm maximum width. The weight of the base holds the lamp steady when fully extended. The lamp is a practical reading/floor lamp and a strong visual statement perfect for a hall, bedroom, study or living space. The lamp has been cleaned and restored and all electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. The lamp is fitted with a black and white houndstooth check fabric cable, an inline switch and plug. The lamp is fitted with a standard E27 lamp holder for which a wide range of modern and vintage style filament bulbs are widely available. We do not currently sell bulbs and recommend LED bulbs 6W maximum. We select the best colour/style of cable for each lamp but additional colours are available for different projects, please contact us separately to discuss. Each lamp has been cleaned and restored and all original electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. Each lamp comes completely wired and ready to install by a qualified electrician. All of our lamps are Class 1 and earthed. In addition where physically possible we go beyond the regulations and double insulate all electrical components and fit additional grommets and protective cable sheathing at any potential points of cable movement. Each lamp is delivered with installation instructions. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use.
