1950s Italian Brass Cage Lamp Pedestal Stand
About the Item
This is a single 1950s Italian floor or table lamp that can also be used as a pedestal or jardiniere plant Stand. It stands 38 inches high. The floor base is black lacquered wood raised on three brass ball feet. It is 13-1/4" diameter and has a recessed circular well in the center 6" diameter suitable for a cylinder vase so that it can hold tall flowers or plumes. The top brass ring is 12-1/4" diameter and can hold a tray or potted plant. The six vertical brass rods have a light fixture at various heights consisting of a tear drop shaped opaline glass torpedo globe secured by brass cones at top and bottom. Inside the bottom cone of each is a single standard size Edison socket which holds a tubular "picture light" bulb 25-40 watts each. It is rewired with black silk braided cord. The switch on the base first turns on three lights, then the other three, then all six.
