3S floor lamp by Paolo Tilche for Sirrah, 1961
About the Item
Floor lamp model S3 was designed by Paolo Tilche for Sirrah, Italy, in 1961. This piece has a round counterweight that creates the perfect balance to adjust it. The round shade is adjustable and creates a very nice spherical light when changed in different positions. A great feature of this floor lamp is that it can even swivel 360 degrees. The lamp is fully made of chrome-plated brass, and the overall condition is very good, with normal signs of use and age. This lamp comes with the original custom floor switch.
This lamp was featured in a book about Paolo Tilche and his creations. Quote: “For the friends of Sirrah, I designed a self-balancing lamp in 1961.”
This lamp can be seen in the 1977 James Bond movie “ The Spy Who Loved Me “.
