Antique Painted Iron Floor Torchere from France, Early 1900s

About the Item

This five light, antique French cast iron torchere has been painted deep green with gold colored bands around the motifs. The motifs are trefoils, C-scrolls, and S-scrolls. There is a turned central stem with a large ball motif at the center ending in tripod scrolled feet. Torcheres always add a special touch of unusual light and stand-alone decoration anywhere they are placed. Measures: H=72 3/8 (to top of center candle cover), W=33 1/2, D=16 1/2.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Good antique condition with losses of color in areas, rusting to bottom tripod feet. Old French wiring.
