If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. The iconic "Jerrycan" was mass produced during World War II. It was designed with three handles to allow one or two people to carry it with ease, and its shape was designed for functional storage on a large scale. Its function? Transport fuel and water to the troops. From fuel to electricity, Benzina is the symbol of the transformations that shape our world. This numbered (02/22) and signed piece was designed to adapt to various decor styles, with adjustable height and angle of ilumination that reveals diferent facets of the piece. The process of manufacture is completly manual and gives new life and purpose to solid recycled wood. Caio Superchi is an artist and craftsman born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who discovered woodworking at the age of 22 as well as the purpose of his work: Designing forms that exalt function using light, repurposed wood and other materials. An interpretation on the meaning of transformation. Growing up, he was influenced by his father to think about the function of objects and to see beyond that, to see what other things they could become. When he started as an apprentice in a woodworking shop, he found wood to be the perfect material to bring his ideas to life. After starting the Superchi Studio as a means to unite what he learned with what he imagined, the pieces created by the studio have been shown in several exhibitions in Latin America and Europe, the continent that welcomed him when he decided to transform and rethink himself in another city: Lisbon, Portugal. That is where he is currently based and produces all the pieces. In this new stage of his life, Caio worked and perfected traditional woodworking techniques while making and restoring classic furniture. This has now allowed him to concentrate on lamp making and explore new concepts and ideas. Nothing is created from nothing. Transformation is the central idea and goal behind the Studio pieces. The rethinking and repurposing of form and function allows us to see this process, while maintaining the object's and materials original story.

The challenge was: How to rethink something that changed an entire industry and transform it into a functional design piece? From the first ones made of wood to modern ceramics , in between there is the steel brake. A mechanism so widely used that we allow ourselves to almost forget it. Using design to pay homage to function is the answer to the challenge. "Freno" is born out of the desire to adapt a motorcycle steel brake to a lamp. The brake maintains its purpose by acting as a stopping mechanism for the magnetic wooden clamp...
