Brass and glass floor lamp by designer Paolo Venini (1895-1959), 1960s. The glass sphere features the highly skilled "filigrana" technique, and the base is made of brass. Paolo Venini (1895-1959) was an Italian designer and entrepreneur known for his significant contributions to the world of artistic glass. He co-founded the renowned glassmaking company, Venini & C., in Murano, Italy. Among the most famous designers who worked with Venini & C. are Carlo Scarpa, Tobia Scarpa, Fulvio Bianconi, and Gio Ponti.
