This lamp's unique shape is inspired by the Cormorant birds used for fishing in Takayama, a mountain town in Japan. Takayama is famous for Ukai fishing. The Fishermen employ a 1300-year-old technique using trained Cormorant birds. The arc of the Takayama floor lamp by Yabu Pushelberg bears an uncanny resemblance to the fisherman’s friend.
Man of Parts is a Canadian based design studio offering contemporary furniture and lighting.
