About the Item
A true expression of a collection named ‘Hallucinations’, this
piece is reminiscent of the glowing embers of a volcanic rock.
Set on a base of locally sourced aluminum and camel leather,
its translucent form is crafted by hand layering thin sheets
of woven fiberglass. The power cable is sheathed in a hemp
textile casing. Hand finished to ensure the piece retains its form
while also emitting a soft, lingering light. Each piece is hand
made from a computer generated template. This mix of both
traditional and modern techniques lend the piece its own unique
variation and personality. These expressive objects are as much
sculptural as they are functional, offering an escape from mass
produced standardization. The piece was completely made in
UAE using locally available materials and can be customized.
