Palm Spring floor lamp by Matteo Thun for Tronconi, 1989

About the Item

A postmodern 'Palm Spring' floor lamp designed by Matteo Thun and Maurizo Favetta, and manufactured by Tronconi, Italy 1989. The lamp is composed from 10 conical aluminium segments stacked on top of an ABS base, taking the form of the trunk of a palm tree. The lamp is illuminated from a bulb in the base and another at the top. A pupil of Oskar Kokoschka and Emilio Vedova at the Salzburg Academy and graduate of the University of Florence, Matteo’s formative professional years were spent under the guardianship of Ettore Sottsass. Together, they co-founded the globally renowned Memphis Group in 1981.
