Late 1940s-early 1950s Smith-Victor photographic mini-Boom floor lamp, originally intended for photographic use, these lamps were selected for the 1949 show An Exhibition for Modern Living, selected by Edgar Kaufmann Jr. the head of Industrial Design at the MOMA, NY at the time, later to become the choice of many designer types of the day for their interiors. Consisting of an adjustable tripod base and telescoping height adjustments exceeding 8 feet, the lamp head can be adjusted via a red handled extension rod that's original purpose was to be able to adjust the hot lamp head without touching it, when 250 watt photo floods were used back in the day. Newly rewired.
