660.3o Cast Poems I have always been fascinated by the moon - Its roundness, textures, shadow, and light. I've always been fascinated by the moon and how it inspired many poets or singers - Like Van Morrison and his Moondance - And then, one evening, between a walk and a conversation, I brought the moon to my living room and offered it a sanctuary - a wall, a ceiling, a case, to pay tribute in a contemporary manner. I took it down to hang between two wires like a cloth basking in the sun. I folded it carefully, and it allowed me endless possibilities. So mystical, the moon, a muse, a journey. I refuse to miss it. Isn't it full and luminous enough? Doesn't it have a role to play? The process of depicting existing experiences, whether architectural, urban or natural in this case, and transforming them into pieces gave birth to 660.3o 660.3o - Cast Poems is an exploration, a tactile journey between a Material - aluminium - and all its potential. It is a reference to the melting point, which inspired the conceptual approach of the collection. The objects presented include lighting fixtures and a mirror, entirely made of metal. These folded metal sheets offer multiple proposals and a technical Challenge to defy gravity and maintain the desired weightlessness. Stainless steel is used as structural elements - in the form of rods and cables - supporting the casting of aluminium made from CNC router molds. The work focuses on shadows and textures, revisiting a perpetual examination of gravity and fragility, like a moon that sometimes hides and, sometimes reveals its secrets. This approach interprets our relationship with the universe at a time when space travel is becoming accessible, and humans seek to understand the universe around them. Each piece becomes a language and merges with the observer's eye. The object on a wall, suspended or in a larger context, is in direct communication with architecture. The shadow, the reflection of the object, and its deployment decipher the architecture and create a subspace within the volume. Studio Etienne Bastormagi presents a new series of pieces called 660.3o - Cast Poems, for the Milan Furniture Fair. The studio combines geometric shapes and structured lines to continue its quest for minimalism in architecture.
