About the Item
Floor lamp with round opaline glass sphere and chrome footing, made by Sciolari lighting, an editor founded by mid-century Italian lighting designer and entrepreneur Angelo Gaetano Sciolari. He became very popular in the United States during the post-war period and strongly influenced lighting manufacturers around the world. The sculptural forms and striking geometric details of his vintage floor lamps, chandeliers and other lighting fixtures fit perfectly into the mid-century modern and Hollywood Regency interiors of the time.
