About the Item
The BLUE DRAGON WITH BLUE EYE lamp is directly inspired by one of the main creatures from the famous anime Yu-Gi-Oh!
The Japanese series was an omnipresent cultural element in Hugo Beheregaray's childhood. When Beheregaray uses organic shapes to create his objects, it often reminds him of pop culture elements.
This sculpture, made with high-density plaster on a solid wood and cardboard frame, becomes a functional lamp with the addition of the blue eye of the dragon.
A sculpture that transforms into a lamp, nature-inspired shapes that resemble a dragon, and the sturdy plaster resembling cream, give the impression that this object is in constant motion. The blue light produces reflections on all the surrounding surfaces, creating an immersive fantasy world.
