About the Item

Hillebrand brass and glass pair of large wall or ceiling lights, circa 1970s, German. Both lights have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. They are newly rewired, earthed, in full working order and ready to install. Light bulbs included. The lights have been designed by German manufacturer Hillebrand. While these vintage lights are from the 1970s, with the Brutalist ‘ice’ effect glass, the classical form is reminiscent of earlier Art Deco Lighting. They are flush mount and have decorative solid brass pins like a sunburst. They could work equally well as large wall lights or ceiling lights. The styling and materials make these lights timeless, and well suited for a range of interiors such as antique, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, traditional, Industrial or contemporary. Each light consists of a removable clear crystal shade with three holes at the side. It is here through which screw three solid brass decorative pegs to a polished brass circular base. On the back of the base there are three holes to screw the light on to the wall or ceiling. Each glass shade has an external gloss finish while inside it is textured, with a layer of sparkling crystal shards creating depth. The combination of polished brass alongside the textured glass creates beautiful reflections when the lights are on and off. Each light carries inside three large screw standard light bulbs E27 up to 60 Watts. At present photographed and fitted with candle clear light bulbs of 25 Watts, which are included in this price. On the reverse side of each base there is the original Hillebrand maker`s label. The glass shades are in perfect condition. The brass bases are in very good condition, with the original clear lacquer present on the brass, and an attractive antique patina in line with age. Both lights sell together and the price is for the pair. Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the glass shades would be removed and individually wrapped as would the bases. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for posting or shipping. Additional dimensions: Each base (without the glass shade) has the following dimensions: Height 28 cm, width 28 cm, depth 2.5 cm. Each glass shade has the following dimensions: Height 33 cm, width 33 cm, depth 10 cm.
