Fabulous pair of midcentury Venetian caged latticino glass ceiling lights in white and gold. They can also be used as wall sconces as the globes are held tight to the fixture with screws. They are in fabulous vintage condition and have new wiring and sockets. Please see photos. Priced as a pair, circa mid-20th century. Wow! These take my breath away! If you are looking for a spectacular pair of ceiling lights or maybe a pair of wall sconces you have found them. Look no further! Comprised of absolutely positively gorgeous Murano…Venetian…Italian latticino glass in white which was hand blown and caged in gold painted wire cages. In case you aren’t familiar with caged glass, it is glass that has been blown into a wire cage and is allowed to bubble outside of the wire constraints. So, the shape of the cage is fundamental to the shape of the glass. It can be done with clear or colored glass, but this pair of beautiful fixtures has been made using Venetian latticino glass, which is what its name sounds like, two colors of glass, this being white and clear, formed into a lattice crosshatch design. Many of the famed Murano glass artists used latticino to its most beautiful advantage and these lights have done so as well. We have priced these as a pair. You need to make them yours!
