About the Item

Murano art glass large flush light with a solid brass base by Hillebrand Lighting, circa 1970s, German. The base is finished with a brushed satin effect. Thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired, earthed, in full working order and ready to install. Light bulbs included. This large vintage light, by quality German manufacturer Hillebrand, was designed to work as either a ceiling or wall light hung vertically. At the focal point there is a large handmade Murano glass shade. The quality glass alongside the brass gives this Minimalist design elegance. This light is ideal for a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Classical, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist or Contemporary; perfect for when a flush light is needed with low ceilings. The glass shade has a swirling pattern of milky white and clear blown cased glass. It has been polished to a gloss finish on the external side. Inside it has a satin finish. The result is a softly diffused light. The removable shade is secured to a large circular quality solid brass plate through four large decorative brass bolts. These bolts screw into individual arms extending from the brass base. The glass shade sits securely in place and is easily removed to gain access to change the light bulbs. The base is in a brushed brass finish which gives this light a warm tone. The base is screwed to the ceiling or wall through three holes. Carries four standard (E14) small screw light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted and photographed with 25 Watts clear candle light bulbs. These are included in the price. The lamp holders are covered by decorative brass tubes. Both the shade and base are in very good condition. Additional dimensions: The diameter of the glass shade is 46 cm. Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the shade will be removed, bubble wrapped and boxed individually. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for shipping. A complementary light also by Hillebrand is available as photographed.
