Antique iron wall lamp with bells, 1920s
About the Item
Unique hammered iron wall lamp with bells. Intended for mounting above a door and fulfilling two functions. Illuminating the doorway and as a doorbell. The door would hit the bells and signal someone was entering. The center depicts a face with the bells hanging below and two arms curving upwards holding the lamps. It still has the original bakelite sockets.
It looks amazing as a wall lamp and suits every interior.
If you have a shop or deli, this would be great as a doorbell. The bells make a great authentic sound and will make your clients feel welcome while illuminating the doorway.
The piece is in original condition without alterations to the piece itself. The wiring has been renewed with a new European 2 pin plug. It comes without the bulbs. Suitable for both 240volts and 110volts depending on the bulbs used. On request, it can be fitted with a plug suitable for your region.
