About the Item

Set consisting of 13 elements by Venetian glassmaker A.V. Mazzega design Carlo Nason. The transparent textured glass has a strip of fused, emerald green, opalescent glass applied to the center of each sconce, except in two from the fully transparent glass. The set consists of 11 colored wall sconces, 2 of which are spun, and 2 fully transparent wall sconces. The designer is known for his mastery with Murano glass. He is the creator of some fine floor and pendant lamps, most notably for Mazzega. His pieces are renowned for their original and timeless curves. Biography Carlo Nason was born in Italy in 1935. He was born into a family with a passion for Murano glass. He followed in their footsteps and became naturally interested in this beautiful material. Particularly curious, "modern design" caught his attention. He mixed different techniques to create original and innovative pieces. Throughout his career he collaborated with major companies. In the 1970s and 1980s he chose Mazzega to develop his collection. Carlo Nason is considered a point of reference in Italian design. His pieces are particularly sought after, as they are not only original but also of the highest quality.
