circa 1928 Beardslee Sconces Original Paint

About the Item

Priced for the pair. Original paint with the colors in wonderful, vivid condition with no evidence of paint fading or paint loss. I can't imagine that the paint was any more rich when they first painted almost 100 years ago. Maybe they were in a closet all these years. From the late 1920s or early 30s these Beardslee sconces retain their over the top original paint scheme. Not many manufacturers back then had the confidence in their products to create such a unique, bright, and colorful paint job highlighting the extraordinary, playful, and wonderful Art Deco styling on the back plate. These exemplify the quality, style, and detailing Beardslee of Chicago is and was known for. Measures: Height: 11 inches Width: 6 inches Projection: 5 1/4 inches.
