About the Item

Crystal sconces (pair) - pair of clear crystal glass wall lights by unknown producer, 1960s. Beautiful Scandinavian Modern crystal glass wall lamps and in excellent vintage condition. Each of these beautiful sconces are comprised of a clear crystal glass shade, curved to form a half circle, held in place and attached to a small metal wall mounting by two small brass screws. The crystal shade features an embossed pattern, reminiscent of nature's ice crystals upon a window on a cold Scandinavian winter day. The 'frosted' embossed crystal glass shades oozes mid-century Scandinavian glass design with a clear reference to nature in line with contemporary Scandinavian glass designers, like Alvar Aalto and Carl Fagerlund. As these lights lit, the richly textured thick crystal shades create a soft illumination, resembling ice crystals hanging on the wall. They would fit perfectly as accent lights in a living room or hallway, as bedside lights or even in an office space - no matter where you would place them, they are enchanting pieces of Scandinavian glass design. Condition: All original, but rewired with 1,5 m (4' 11.1") white plastic cord, fitted with on/off switch placed at convenient height at the cord and Euro style plug - which is easily changed to your specific plug. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag. Light source: Two bulbs, Edison screw-fittings (E14/E12 with adapter) Max 25 Watt each.
