A FREE-FORM FLOOR LAMP MODEL J1 by JOSEPH-ANDRE MOTTE for DISDEROT, France 1950
About the Item
This is a rare, early and authentic, vintage piece of the iconic "J1" floorlamp designed in 1958 by Joseph-André Motte, produced by Disderot. This piece is an early edition, in its black lacquered wood free-form "diabolo" body, in excellent condition (showing one single vertical crack in the lacquer, visible on pictures) and slight signs of age. This floor lamp comes with its original white frosten glass in excellent vintage condition, fixed on the lamp body with an ingenious screwing system, and its original ground switch. To be clear : this is a true early piece of this french design icon by one if the most important after war design master. It is not a later edition, neither a recent re-edition by the renewed "Disderot" edition.
