Italian 18th Century Louis XVI Period Giltwood and Crystal Chandelier
About the Item
A beautiful and most elegant Italian 18th century Louis XVI period giltwood and crystal chandelier. The sixteen arm chandelier is centered by a stunning fitted cut crystal dome with exquisite wonderfully executed floral designs with a most decorative array of prism shaped crystal pendants. The elegantly scrolled arms branch out from a wrap around mottled border, each separated by striking richly carved palmettes and decorated with lovely foliate designs leading to charming floral candle cups with additional crystal pendants. Eight metal chains lead up to the beautiful top crown with additional striking palmettes and a central foliate finial amidst additional prism cut crystal pendants. All original gilt throughout.
