About the Item
Exceptional light object named 'Fifty Fifty’ in very good vintage condition. The lamp can be used as a table lamp, floor lamp and sconce. Designed by Paul Talman in the 1965, Switzerland. The base of the lamp is executed in aluminum and holds nine rotating plastic balls, each ball has 'ON' printed to the white side and 'OFF' printed to the black side. Each ball can be rotated to create different patterns. The lamp needs 9 x QT9/12V 10W/G4 halogen bulbs (European wiring). Good vintage condition, some traces of use. Marked with label.
Trained in Bern as a lithographer, Paul Talman was a Swiss sculpture and artist known for abstract work and "motion pictures". Starting in 1960 he created his famous models and ball images as kinetic objects that earned him worldwide notoriety. While in the United States, Talman designed for Knoll and patented several projects and inventions.
