Circular W, 2022 Taking the shape of the universe to its logical conclusion, this emblematic lighting collection is constructed exclusively of circles — from the form of its principle design elements to the screws that secure them in place. Universal symbols of totality, perfection and timelessness, the spheres also express the cyclical expansion and contraction of the cosmos and the immutable centre that anchors this in nite process. A brass base forms the physical centre of each design, weighing a vertical rod affixed with an industrially CNC-routed spherical glass diffuser. Internally illuminated by a custom LED circuit, each disc emits an ethereal glow. The resulting objects assimilate the patterns, techniques and nuances that surround us, particularly within the urban and industrial settings upon which our society is built, with an acute awareness of the importance of efficient and responsible use of materials, processes and local production. Based in Milan, Italy, Nita was founded by Nicolo Taliani, who unites his European heritage with an ongoing exploration of sculpture and fine art, establishing a unique design language that synthesises myriad inspirations. From architects Renzo Piano and Le Corbusier to artists Constantin Brancusi, Lucio Fontana and Isamu Noguchi to post-modernism and futurism movements, and beyond, this wellspring combine to inform declarative objects, including jewellery, lighting, furniture and sculpture. Nita‘s products are meant to preserve the inherent qualities and imperfections of the given materials. All the products are handmade with this philosophy in mind.
