Pair English Georgian Style Cut Crystal Sconces Attributed to Moses Lafount

About the Item

In the 1790s Moses Lafount invented a new design for chandeliers, candelabra, and wall brackets (sconces). The essence of the design was that the arms should appear to pass vertically through the arm-plate in one continuous curve of glass. The results were undeniably elegant and different (Mortimer, The English Glass Chandelier). These beautiful sconces are currently for use with candles, but could be electrified at no additional charge.
